SHANGLA: Shangla police busted two members of a gang of auto thieves and recovered four motor cars from their possession which were stolen from the different parts of Shangla in month of Ramazan.
While addressing a press conference at his office, the DPO Shangla Syed Rasool Shah claimed that with the start of Ramazan car lifting incident were rising and the car owners reporting to police about their cars.
“As Shangla people are poor and use the cars as cab, they parked their cars along the roads because could not afford the garage rent, whereas the gang had taken benefit of that and taken away the cars,” The DPO continued.
He said, when he notice that car thieves gang has continued his activity within the district so he formed a special team of police comprises on SDPO Amjad Ali who headed the team, inspector Habib Shah as investigative officer, Ghafar Khan, SHO Karora, Rohul Amin, Kiramat Hussain were member of the team.
The DPO added that after a long activity with by using different tactics the team apprehended the two members auto thieves gang identified as Bacha Zamin of Par Hoti Mardan and Sangin Khan of Odigram Swat and properly interrogated them.
He said, during interrogation they confessed the offense and disclosed the car location and also the rest of members of their gang.
The DPO said, the gang members also identified the out province group which buy the cars from them.
He said, the cars recovered from their possession were lifted from the limits of Bisham, Chakesar and Alpuri police stations, however police now have lodged cases against the two members of gang and they will be sent behind the bars.
The DPO on the occasion appealed the public to park their cars in safe zones, safe areas instead of parking along the main roads.
